Trends in Publishing

As a writer, you may have noticed that it is challenging to find a publisher if you don’t already have a following. One of the first questions an agent or publisher may ask is, how many twitter, or facebook, or instagram followers do you have? This is because once your work is published, in order to market it effectively, you need to have a platform from which to publicize your name, your brand, your work. If you have this in place already, the publisher is more likely to take a chance on you.
