Tarweed Mystery School invites you to try this practice. It should take about twenty minutes. For best results, write down your impressions in a journal after you complete the meditation
Sit or lie in a peaceful place where you will not be disturbed.
Begin with Some breaths,
simply watch the breath enter
And leave the body with no effort
And again, breath following breath
Bring to mind a lovely river in moonlight
You are standing, feet planted in the river
Allow your bare feet to settle comfortably
amid the pebbles of the riverbed,
Notice the cool water moving over your ankles and toes
You begin to grow taller with each inhale,
Your height reaching up past the treetops,
the clouds, until you extend into vast space
Your head is way out among the stars.
Your chest is at the level of the sun
Your pelvis at the level of the moon
Your feet in the safe wonder of the riverbed
You are just tall and stable,
yet grounded in the river.
You can see the stars all around you,
some arranged in familiar constellations.
When you look down you can see the earth,
very small below
Where the river ripples over your feet.
Allow the breath to travel down through the center of your chest
And into the lower body
Opening around your waist
and letting the diaphragm relax and expand.
Now allow the breath to flow upward and out through the mouth and nose
In a long sigh, emptying the whole body of air.
Keep this deep, relaxing breath flowing
On its way down with the inhale,
allow it to carry from the starry regions on high
The faint sweetness from the top of the head
To nourish the depths of the body
As the breath turns from inhale to exhale,
Allow this upward flow to carry the warmth
From the depths of the body, where this breath
Has fed the fires of life with the sweetness and oxygen.
As the breath travels up and out, Shah! Its heat
Warming the crown of the head
As the breath enters the body again – Sweetness!
Begin to consider the return.
Allow each exhale to bring you downward
Toward your Mystery School reality
Until you have returned to the body
as it lies or sits In meditation.
Count backward – Three, Two, One
If this is your first Alchemy practice, congratulations! Your journey has begun.
